For our 10th Festival of Speed we had an extremely busy and productive time. The weekend began on Thursday with the Moving Motorshow which was a Goodwood first. We arrived early on Thursday and immediately met up with the team from MG Motor to help with the introduction of the new MG 6 Turbo.
With an amazing showroom construction by the start line of the famous hill climb, manufacturers such as Ford, MG, Jaguar, Audi , Alfa Romeo, Honda, Ferrari and many more lined up their latest models to be driven by the motoring press and dealer network staff and customers.
We had 3 customers with us who all enjoyed the MG experience as well as a brilliant local photographer (Jordan McLachlan from Red Pepper ) who has done all our previous photography and video work.
We were impressed with the interest of both press and public in the new MG6 Turbo and after our drive in a pre-production Chinese specification model up the hill, we now know how brilliant this car is and know that it will have an impact on the UK car market in the very early part of 2011.
If you want to know more about this new MG product or have an interest in the new MG TF 135 of which there are only a 100 or so left to sell, then call a member of our MG sales team on 01376 550899.
When we came back to Goodwood on Saturday 3rd July, the festival was in full swing and what a occasion it was this year. From the moment you walk in through one of the many entrance gates, you are bombarded with the sights and sounds that makes petrol heads like ourselves weak at the knees. The cars, the stars, the Red Arrows, RAF helicopters, Vulcan Bombers it's just non stop entertainment from the moment you walk in. Our favourites were as follows - Jim Clarks' Indy 500 winning Lotus, Ayrton Senna's McLaren, Porsche 903 in Gulf Oil livery, Martini Racing Porsche 911, Ferrari 288 GTO in white (one of Chris Evans many cars), Bugatti Veyron there's no need to go on as I'm writing this thinking that I've missed too many out already.
As we marched on further up the hill, we walked to the drivers enclosure where Mark Webber Red Bull Formula one driver was signing autographs as well as Jenson Button , Stirling Moss, Mika Hakkinen and many more all happily waiting for the us the fans to pull ourselves together. As we reached the top of the hill we'd realised that time had run out and we had not even got to the Rally Stage ! Oh well, better book again for next year and we'll make sure we move faster so we don't miss anything. We say that every year !
Thanks for your time
